Detective Brian Raynsford is Secretary of the Fort Worth chapter of Brotherhood for the Fallen. He was instrumental in writing the by-laws for the Fort Worth chapter and is one of the original members of the chapter board. His duties include keeping the minutes of each board meeting and chapter records, audits of the membership roll with city payroll deduction lists and reports to the board president.

Detective Raynsford joined the Fort Worth Police Department in October 1990 and graduated from the Police Academy in March 1991. He worked Midnight shift patrol in West Division from 1991 to 1995. He transferred to Special Operations Division and worked Gang Enforcement Unit from 1995 to 2004. During that time Detective Raynsford took part in numerous tactical search and arrest warrant operations against gang members. Detective Raynsford worked with members of the US Secret Service and Drug Enforcement Administration and received a Commendation Award from the DEA.

Detective Raynsford attended both Basic and Advanced SWAT certification schools, numerous gang investigation schools during this time. Detective Raynsford took part in local, state and Federal investigations involving street gang members. During this time Detective Raynsford was court certified expert witness in white supremacist gang identification and prison gangs.

Detective Raynsford was promoted to Detective in 2007 and was placed in charge of a Property Crime Task Force with two officers addressing construction theft and related offenses in the police district in north Fort Worth area.

In 2009 Detective Raynsford was one of 110 officers from Fort Worth PD that was selected to be part of the Presidential Inauguration Detail in Washington DC.

In January 2009 Detective Raynsford transferred to the Robbery Unit in the Violent Personal Crime Section of the Criminal Investigations Division. Detective Raynsford has traveled across Texas and many other states to investigate Aggravated Robbery and Robbery offenses that have occurred in Fort Worth.

Detective Raynsford has been an adjunct Academy instructor in Defensive Tactics, Arrest Search and Seizure, Patrol Procedures, Report Writing, Officer Survival and Active Shooter response. He helped write the original Eyewitness Identification class taught at the FWPD Police Academy.

Detective Raynsford has been nominated for Fort Worth Police Department Rookie Officer of the Year and Officer of the Year. In 2015 Detective Raynsford was named Investigator of the Year by the Robbery Investigators of Texas organization. In 2016 Detective Raynsford joined the executive board of Robbery Investigators of Texas.

In 2018 Detective Raynsford received a Commendation Award from the United States Attorney’s Office of the Northern District of Texas for his role as the lead FWPD Detective in a serial Aggravated Robbery investigation conducted by FWPD and the FBI.

He has an Associate degree from Tarrant County College, a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dallas Baptist University, a Master Peace Officer license and Instructor certificate from TCOLE.
